My Trip to Avillion Resort Port Dickson

Destination: Port Dickson, Malaysia
Accommodation: Premium Water Chalet at Avillion Resort
Duration: 3D2N
Arrive On: 26 Dec 2006
Depart On: 28 Dec 2006

We decided to give ourselves a pampered short trip at the west coast of Malaysia, Port Dickson “PD”. After much researched done, we signed up the 3 days 2 nights, Romantic Interlude Package. The package comes with daily breakfast, 1 candlelight dinner, 1 bottle of house wine, 1 hand bouquet and 30 minutes pampering treat (head & neck massage) for 2.

This resort is offering several types of room from Garden Seaview rooms, Garden Chalets, Water Chalets to Suites. Majority of their facilities (pool, restaurant and etc) are either operated 24 hrs or to late night.

We took around 4 ~ 4.5 hours to reach PD by our Babytaz Tuc Tuc. By then we were starving, so having our first lunch, Wan Ton (Dumpling) Noodle, at one of a small rundown chinese Kopitiam (coffee shop) that cooked by an elderly.

The noodle taste different, smoother and ticker than the usual one we eat in Singapore. The down side is, the dumplings are miserable small.

Well, parking in PD would be pleasant one because we do not need parking coupon (no uncle/aunty comes to issue you fine) and can easily find parking lot (if you dare, can park wherever you want).

Before we left the coffee shop, we saw a mobile Chador seller with his full loaded stuff of equipment. If I’m not wrong, he told the people RM$0.50 per pack.

Check-in time to Avillion Resort is 3pm and due to holiday season, the reception counter was quite packed with people that waiting to get their rooms

If you intend to go with group, parking should not be a problem. Just diagonally opposite the resort (across the road), they have their second open car park which can occupy 200 cars (as told by the security). Another one that just located in front of the resort, you can forget about it, the lot is limited and always full. Both car park are guarded 24 hrs by a friendly Security and the area is locked by gate or barrier (the one in front of the resort). We once driving in circle at the 2nd car park to find a better spot to park, the security approached us at a undisturbance distance to see what this 2 jokers were doing. I felt that they are very responsible and alert, not those get pay and sleep while working.

Picture at the left took at the arrival hall – this is the main entrance, the small car park is at the left, you can see the security from far guarding.

Room

Leading to the room ….

Acheh room 812 was where our room was.
The entrance was always quiet and peaceful while walking towards our chalet. At sometimes, we met friendly staff, greeting us with one hand placed on their chest.

When entering into the night, the surrounding is more silent and calm with only dim cozy light showing your way back or out. However, we are not alone because the breeze and the wavy sound will accompany us along the wooden path.

At the Door Step ....

That’s our room, at one of the corner, you can see a partial of our balcony (2nd pic).

Tall ceiling, 4-poster king size bed, very Balinese.

‘Pangkin’ (day bed). When you roll up the blind , sit/lie on the bed, a great sea view is in front of you.

The view – Open sea, Straits of Malacca.

The writing desk.

Our Unit - the one in front.

Toilet

Well furnished with toiletries. Very spacious with separated bath tub and open-ceiling/air shower area.

Bath Tub and Shower area.

While you are bathing, you can either look down to see any fish swim pass or any bird fly across.

Can do fishing here (left pic). Stone flooring for anti-slip (right pic).

Toiletries inclusive bath towel, hand and face towels, shower gel, shampoo, soap, shower cap, toothbrush, body powder, body lotion, shoes shine, sewing kit, cotton buds and shaver.

Is a good spot to view the sunrise and sunset. I only managed to snap short the sunset because too sleepy to get out from bed in the early morning especially the bed is so comfortable.

Food

Breakfast (Daily)

We had our daily breakfast at Village Court which is just located beside the pool. It would be relaxing to seat and face the quite pool especially in the early morning where sleeping worms still actively in us. They served international buffet and there is a wide range of selections. They have fried Bee Hoon or Mee Goreng (Malay style Noodle), Nasi Lemak, Porridge (Teochew style, pain porridge mix with ikan bilis, peanuts, salty egg, “Fu Yue” Fermented Tofu or …), Cereal, bread & bun (like white & wholemeal bread, Croissant, Danish…), Omelette (freshly cook by order), Pancake, French Toast, Chicken Sausage, Baked Potato, Bake Tomato, Bake Bean, Beef Ham, Curry Chicken, Salad (If you are a vegetarian or salad lover, you will love the salad corner. They also provide freshly marinated fish and thin slices of beef ham to blend into your mixture.), hot and always refilled Coffee and Tea with warm fresh milk waiting to be added, selection of fruit juice such as Orange, Guava and Strawberry and lastly not to forget our daily Victim A & C, Fruits (you can have slices of fruits or choose yourself an apple, pear, orange or banana).

Sorry no picture to show because morning too zombie to take photo.

** Breakfast(food) provided by the restaurant may not be all, I may left out some.

Candlelight Dinner

We had our candlelight dinner at Crow’s Nest on our very first night. We were excited and looking forward to it (because we never had candlelight dinner before and in such a romantic ambience.

This restaurant is opened daily for 24 hrs. The candlelight dinner for a person is charging RM$90 if your package do not come with it. We booked our dinner at 7pm, hence the place is quite empty, quiet and freezing.

We thought of the waitress would kindly give us the menu because all we knew was having a western food. However, we were only made to choose between Chicken and Fish, no one bother to tell us. Since then, we decide to treat every dish as surprised!

It was 9pm by the time we completed our luxury meal! Two hours for a dinner, we never did that before. Perhaps it should be longer time if they remember to serve us our Wine. Anyway, we had the opportunity to enjoy the live Latin Guitar performance from 8pm-9pm.

** Sorry picture quality may not be good due to the dim lighting in the restaurant.

1st & 2nd Dishes – Bread and Appetizer
There are three types of bread served. The butter taste heavenly, may be they had added and mixed with some herbs. The appetizer came with two prawns, seaweed, shells, small pieces of lemon( I think so because it tasted extremely sour) and some unknown ingredients.

3rd Dish – Soup
Pumpkin with milk topping. It was so yummy that no words can describe, hence both of us forgot to take picture.

4th Dish – Sand Ice with Lime and Mint flavor.
Not a desert, we don’t know why it was in the menu. We guess it was to prepare and adjust our taste buds for the main dish upcoming. Very sweet.

5th Dish – Main Course
Chicken with Ham filling and Mesh Potato blend with milk and herbs (think with other secret seasoning too). The chicken meat is best to go with the gravy. Yummy Yummy!

6th & 7th Dishes – Coffee and Desert
The coffee was very bitter, those kind of Raymond’s favorite (Stog10). One full pack of sugar go into this small cup still don’t taste any sweetness. Actually very impress on their serving because they bother to warm up the bottle of fresh milk (so that the temperature will persist even you added the milk into the coffee).

The desert don’t taste like ice-cream nor cake. All we knew was mixed with almond essential, almond flakes, peanuts and milk like gravy.

Lunch

We had our lunch on Day 2 & 3 at this restaurant. Parking is easy and no problem because they have a spacious open car park right in front.

Dinner on Day 2 (27 Dec 2006)

They serve lunch and dinner daily. Operating hour should be 11am to 11pm.
One funny thing we found out that this restaurant do not provide menu for customer to refer and order food. Instead, you got to ask them what they have for meat or vegetable… or certain dish you know. To play safe, we asked for their house special. Nevertheless, the workers are very patient and friendly and they willing to explain to customer if you ask.

“Dong Po” Pork (Pork Belly) **RM$12.00**
Their house special, recommended. If the pork and gravy (a bit sweet type) go with a bun (“Man Dao”) will be more yummy.

Looks soggy but in fact very crispy outside.
